15th things in life, 15th February, Only one special someone

I should really be sleeping now. But im really bored of sleeping my life away and im here to blog.

So many things happened in the month of February..And i really gonna need a break from my life. Its been too hectic..So much things happening..But i know, i know it damn well that it can only be better.

Well, the month of february had been by far, the most special month for me.

The tiny bits in life

I just got back from Bangkok.Attended my first major race event of the year.

Well, to sum it up, it could really have been a better race for me had i put everything in place. The bits and pieces of anything and everything cost me my pole position, that bits and pieces cost me my podium finish. I knew i could have won the race for open brushless had i put the bits and pieces in place. I knew it would be a difficult task to win GEM at his home track. But i always thought it was possible when i lost the Tq to him by that tiny bit..by that 0.5 of a second. That

tiny bit, will always be remembered, at least to me..It will be a difficult moment for me for awhile to take the defeat knowing i was so close to everything, but luck just ran out. I dont wish to whine about it. Honestly, i dont! The result that i ended up with, knowing it could have been

better, i have no complains over it consider that i arrived in Bangkok pretty late for practice, and that i had only 2 practice packs with it. What really upsets me was the result for my modified class. But i wouldnt want to change a thing. Because i know the mistakes that i've made has brought me to where i am. It has brought me to LEARN things in a harder way. I cant dwell over my mistakes forever. I cant do that. I just have to learn and move on with life. And hope the next time, i wont repeat the same mistakes again. Usually i dont because i dont like to lose.

I've learnt so much in the span of one week in thailand. The experience, the people, the culture, the politics, the shopping malls, the nightlife, the life in bangkok to be precise. Its just so different there. I feel that i have no worries at all when i was there. I've enjoyed myself with great companies around me. Thank you everyone who has been putting faith in me. Raceworks Series Race #1

I attended my first EP touring car series race organized by Raceworks last weekend. We have around 30ish racers this time and all were ready to race and have some fun. In preparation to TITC, I have prepared two new cars for this race, one Reedy 17.5t for stock class and one for Modified class which i chose to run a Reedy 5.0T motor. Credit to Jason Lee for the second car.

My qualifyings for stock class had been outstanding as i was the only 21 lapper and was a lap ahead. And i would go on to win the race in the first two finals comfortably as the rest of the field crashed out at the start for the first two finals.

My qualifyings for Modified class was great as well. My car was fast and i was always 0.3s faster for best lap and about 6seconds overall in front. In the finals, i was not the fastest as running on worn out tyres proved to be difficult for me to push. I spun out on my first lap and was chasing hard for the win. Fortunately, the leader crashed out and i regained my position. For the second final, i was being pressured by second spot but i got hit. The race continued as there was no stop and go penalty.But once again, the leader crashed out and i won the race comfortably.

Although i won both classes, but i know that there are room for improvement in term of car setup and driver technique. However, i feel good carrying my winning form to Thailand next week.

We didnt have the budget to race the TITC next month. However, he wants me to go..Just what can i say? I just gotta work harder each and everytime to compete at the highest level.

I will stay for afew days in Bangkok after the race to test my nitro car. And then a week later, i will fly to Hongkong to race the 5th round of KM race. Two big races in the span of 2 weeks. Excited much! It will be fun for sure!

Life as it is

Hello Ever Re Bo Deh!

Imma talk about how things have been going for me other than school.

Have not been to the gym for near two months and my diets are pretty junky!But as you can see, I am still trying to look 'sharp and sleek'!Hahaha!

And I have been squeezing time to work on my nitro car. Managed to squeeze out half a day to go to the track.Car felt amazingly easy to drive on the stock setup.Feeling really confident..And now i will only have to worry about engine tuning. Otherwise, im pretty happy about everything that has worked out for me so far.

And i will be attending TITC next month. Cant wait although i think i will suck in that race.But right now,i have a very positive mindset and i think i will do well.Confidence is the key to success!Well, at least for me.

Genting Highlands

Had an awesome outing to Genting highlands with my lovely friends to spend the New Year.

This year is gonna be BIG for me. Its either the make or break season! Its time to prove myself. I just gotta work harder. I just need to go faster and consistent! Its not gonna be easy for sure, but i am just gonna enjoy every moment i've left for now.

Broken-in my HK1 last weekend and is 80% done. The car felt weird. Maybe I need to check my car again.

Just found out something really dumb. Because i am using the Hudy camber setup tools, I have mistaken my camber ever since i own the tools. Which means i have been running more camber than what i thought it was!

So with all the crazy school work piling up on me, i just need to find time to work on it. Besides, these arent the things i am busy with...

I am happy with what i've got right now. I hope everything stays this way!

Tamiya World Championship

This was the biggest race of the year for me. To be honest, i did not have time to test the new sensored brushless system and also the various bodyshells available just for the race since Subaru b4 was not allowed.I could only rebuild my car when i reach Shizuoka hotel too. The reason lies with my school work. I just have too much to worry in school. Appreciated HJ, Kevin wong and Jason for lending me their bodies.

I had alittle tour in the Tamiya factory on thursday. This also marks the Fifth major company i have visited. The first was Team Associated, Team Novak, Team Kyosho and then Ko Propo.

The tour lasted half a day, the next half of the day, Me and jookiah decided to tag along with Kenji and Teddy to Tokyo. We took the express train and it was about an hour from Shizuoka.

Come Friday, the event adopted the race format of the F1 race. Taking the fastest lap to determine the top qualifier and counting best of 2 out of 4 qualifiers. I never had good feeling of the car during the 3 free practice.But i was already setting the pace for controlled practice 1 setting a blistering pace of 15.8 and backed it up with a 3d for the second round with a 16.0.I was satisfied but i know it was too close to call.

Qualifying started on saturday. I was trying things like springs, droops, suspension blocks after every round but i was consistently slower than the first day. I do not have answers to it. I thought it could be me driving too safe but i pushed pretty hard in Q3 but it ended the same for me. I was doing a fastest lap of 16.0 to 16.1 all day. It was definitely not the setup of the car as it felt better each time out. I had two 4th and one 5th position. This would rank me 5th overall. Was clearly disappointed because i have no idea what i was lacking.

The main event started on sunday. I had a new motivation and gave my all. Before the

last qualifier started, i decided to change to a setup i thought was good during qualifying. I Tq'ed the last round with 0.3 faster than the rest of the field. I also came to a conclusion that i shouldnt clean tyres with the cleaner and that my practice tyres were better as well. With a tq in the bag, i was one position better in the overall standing.

I felt confident before the finals. I had a good start to the first final but i lost fo

cus.I made too many mistakes in the first final. Nevertheless, i made a good pass on the leader before the 20 laps mark. I won my first final. I was ecstatic! However, the second final didnt turn out according to plan. I got a hit and really didnt get hold of myself. I crashed out with a broken c-hub.

After the race, the inspector checked my car and told me i couldnt use an aluminium drive shalf on the front. This turned out shocking to me as it was not stated in the rule. I have no choice but to change to a steel shalf. I was confused at that point of time! Its like after i reached the second final, someone told me i am using something illegal which wasnt stated in the rule?

A real bad start to the last final. I got hit again at the start. By the time i recovered, i was already the third last car and that the leader was 3/4 of a lap ahead. I thought i have lost the race. It was too far of a gap to chase back but i didnt give up. I was pushing every lap and without a single mistakes for the last final. As the laps were winding down, i got closer and closer to the leader. I was back to 4th on lap 15. Second and third leader had a collision so i got pass them when they were practicing good sportmanship. I was right behind the leader on the second last lap thinking of manufacturing a possible pass. However, i went wide when i saw the leader attempting to hit a backmarker right in front of his path. I got through and it was already the last lap, i held on to the lead and won the race with so much hardwork. It was definitely a tough race and i couldnt believe i actually won the race when i crossed the line. I was going crazy actually but i held my

emotions.

I promised that if i win a major title, i would dedicate it to Mike Reedy. Now that ive won, he deserves all the credit.

After the prize presentation, was the driver's party. Free flow of alcoholic drinks and everyone was giving me drinks. Well, at least the fun last not more than 5 hours and i had got my hungover.

Stayed at Tokyo for a night and met up with HJ and Dominic. They were racing in Japan as well at Yatabe arena. The ATS pilot race event!

Caught up with my old friend, Alexander Hagberg in Tokyo as well. The last time i saw him was probably at the TITC 3-4 years back. He is becoming to look like the famous Harry Potter. Fortunately he was in Japan racing the ATS too. Had dinner with Alex, Kenta, Murai and Francesco. This trip certainly creates a good memory for me.

The one thing that i dont like about Japan, is to run for your life and catch your express train. Otherwise, it was a perfect trip!

Thank you Andrew, Jookiah, most importantly my dad and the people around the world who supported me. I hope i did not disappoint anyone and will continue to work hard.

Overdue post for F1RCGP

Back from F1 race in Hongkong. This was one of the many international race that i really enjoyed myself. Kitazawa invited me to this event but Stargek supported me for this event. I was only informed 2 weeks before the event to go. At that point of time, of course, I was worried about many things such as car setup, driving technique,speedo setup and so on because i did some testing in Singapore and did not feel good afterwards. However, i did not hesitate to go because i knew it would be a good warm up race before the Worlds later this month.

Arrived on friday and took a shuttle bus back to the hotel. Didnt waste much time and went shopping. Spent most of my money shopping in the hobby shops and eating, no surprise..

Ciome Saturday, I was running a shocking top 3 pace during practice. With the help of Master Zen, Naoki Furoda and Takashi Kato,My car felt really good everytime i put my car on the track. Takashi was the pace setter and i knew i could match him if i have more knowledge with the F1. So throughout the weekend, i was trying to match his pace. I was reseeded in 3rd position after the last control practice. Since then, i have set my sight on making the podium.

I ended up qualifying 3rd. Had really bad luck in the finals.Firstly was because i didnt understand what the race organizer was trying to say. They only spoke in cantonese and japanese.Couldnt understand either and didnt know whether to cover my lines or open up. Also, some backmarkers have no courtesy of driving and hit me even though i was a lap ahead. I finished both first and second finals with two 3rd spot.

However, i knew 2nd position was still possible. Had a good start but it didnt end for long. I traction rolled my car due to the chucking of tyres.I couldnt push for the win and ended up finishing 4th. With my results, i managed a disappointing 4th overall.I knew i was capable of something more but i guess experience play a big part as well. Another reason i was disappointed was because the trophy is really gorgeous! Damn!

Otherwise, I enjoyed myself still and a big thank you to Team Stargek featuring Andrew,Jasmine and Jookiah.

Champion Of Asia!

Still feeling high after winning the GT class of Tamiya Asia Cup. Im really happy that i won it. Big thanks to all the people whom have helped me achieve this result. There were strong contenders from Thailand, Manila, Malaysia and my fellow team-mates this year. However, Dong from Korea, looked fast the whole weekend able to match my pace.Dong definitely shocked everyone of us.

Never liked the base carpet setup i used during practice. Changed quite afew things during controlled practice and got it to better groove. After 6 qualifyings, I Tq'ed by a marginal of 3 seconds. Drove safely for two finals and got my win!

Next up, F1 race in Hongkong, Early November! Later

Overdue post...still i have to make this post!

Singapore Invitational Challenge took place on the second week of September. It was my first race with an 8th scale nitro on-road car, hence, no experience with car setup, engine tuning and the deadly wear-and-tear parts!

Why would I have a 8th scale nitro onroad car? T-loaned it from Sam chow!I cant thank him enough for what had happened! I appreciated it alot and thought maybe making the A main would make him a happy man..unfortunately, many things went wrong during the race. Suffered engine failure for all three qualifyings on saturday. Disappointed i may be, but i have to thank Sam for his engines!Not to forget, Bk's IDM! Oh ya i broke three engines on saturday! How pro!!!

Stayed till the late night to break-in new engine on saturday.Cant even see my car while breaking-in...and got up at 530am to continue with the engine tuning.Really tiring week for me..needless to say, tiring for Uncle Chow!

Made the 1/8 and 1/4 finals easily!But failed during my semi-final due to a broken pinion.All in all, i had fun!Nitro is fun and i hope i would do more nitro racing in the future. Wanting to participate the Xceed cup later next month.Hope i would do that.

All in all, i would like to extend my sincerely appreciations to my friends, Sam, for everything! Mok for being my mechanic, Lip for helping out, Bk for his engine.....hmmm who else....?? Something like that la..Thank you everyone for their support and im grateful for having people like you in my life!

Did quite a fair bit of racing for me lately and im glad im racing more and,competitively!

To top it off, ive been really busy prepping my car for TAC race this weekend!Really looking forward to it. I hope i will be able to win it.Nevertheless, a top 3 result would be accepted.Not reading too much into this race.Will just try to get a good setup out of the car and do my best.What more can i ask right?

Last round of TAC being held yesterday at Racecraft.

First round of qualifying,I took the win and Tq'ed by just 0.2 second ahead.I should consider myself lucky enough to even tq this round because after the 3rd minute mark, my car started to drift. And i found out that a plastic piece on top of my rear hub came loose without any incident whatsoever. A bad design and theres no doubt about that.

I didnt manage to start my second qualifying because i had a bad battery pack.I managed a faster laptime on my last qualifying round with the only 17lapper.And also wrapped pole position for the finals.

I was driving safe for the first final.Defending every line i could.But after a hit from Py when he attempted a move, the plastic piece at the rear came loose again.I lost my lead and had to settle for second spot.

I had a comfortable lead in the second final but my car stopped out of the blue and thus, ruined my chance of winning the race.

And for the last final, I had a comfortable lead yet again.However, AGAIN, the plastic piece at the rear came loose despite gluing it together.I was struggling after 2 minutes and have to defend every line and make sure there were no room for any pass. I held on to the pressure and won my last final.

Although race results for the last round do not matter, but i still hate losing when i had a chance to win it. Whats even more frustrating was my electronics and car have failed me.

Modified and stock class champions!

Race last sunday was postponed to yesterday due to the heavy downpour which almost cause all my equipments to get a free shower.

As it is,turnout on tuesday was much lesser because of national day.But enough to pull through a race.We have had two classes, the modified and the stock class(17.5t).

This race was alittle special because we did not have qualifyings.We ran the Reedy race format.Instead of initially wanting to run just 6runs,the organizer pull out another 2 more runs which in total, sum up to 8runs,Best of 5 to count.

I won 7/8 runs.My car was awesome,one of the fastest,if not,fastest car on the straight away.Just what can i say?Im satisfied!Just need to work on my driving just alittle bit.I feel that im not too far from being in my top form.Need to work hard on it.

My 7 years old B4 did me proud.

First qualifying, my pinion gear came loose.So i didnt even complete a lap.

Second qualifying i made a hell lotsa mistakes and managed a quick 11 lapper.I was like 7th or 8th on the grid. (Fastest lap was 24seconds.)

Third qualifying, i made afew mistakes and managed a 12 lapper.(Fastest lap was 22seconds,On par with the top 2 guys) Which means, i qualified 5th in the A-main. Was kinda satisfied, however just didnt really get a feel of how to drive an off-road car still.

I got off to a good start for the first final.However afew costly mistakes meant that i would finished 4th. I didnt manage to finish my two remaining finals as i broke my car.Everything is falling apart from my old car.

I did have fun and i thought i could have done better,at least on the podium.Oh well,i will try again for the next round.

Next up, modified touring car!One or two things to test which include split motor mounts,split blocks and front gear diff.Im pretty confident of my chance this sunday.

Weather was great for practice during the weekends.Ive got a good car but ive something in mind that could make it even better.I am just waiting for parts to test it out.I also took a video of me driving.Ok, my friend helped with the video.I will post it up when i have time:)

9 years ago,I won first in Main B during TAC finals. 9 Years later,I won first in Main A, round 5 at Singapore expo yesterday.Carpet racing,they are so different compared to Asphalt.Its always a challenge.Tryes addictive are so important.Power comes next!

But im relishing the challenge!Just gotta keep my cool,and i believe i will make it.Lots of work still to do to make that happen.BUSY BUSY!

Back from America.

Stayed 4 days at Bob Novak's apartment.Not really apartment but i camped on the yacht of his.Super awesome!

However,this was an emotional trip for me. Wanted to give a speech but i was too afraid of giving one.I should have prepared one if i knew.

It takes alot to realise that i've changed.And its scary sometimes to know that.I've gotten into the comfort zone for too long i guess.

I have taken many risks, made many important decisions. But today, i just made the hardest decision in my life.I chose this path, and, i will move on to seek what is waiting for me in the future. I will only know whether its good or bad the next time when i look back.

I guess i have taken too many people around me for granted without me knowing.For example,My friend,buddy, passed away recently.Only after he left,then i knew how important he was.He was like my second dad. He guided me all along until he wasnt able to. He made my childhood a great one and got my future kickstarted. I will pay you my respect every 17th of May from now on.

But i know if i am given another chance, i will still choose to walk away.Because i have seen too much tears being shed for me.

I will deactivate this blog after i get back from america peeps!

The weather for this weekend was fabulous!

Whats new?!so much work!Never ending projects and tests in school.Went to NEX,new shopping mall in Serangoon with baby and clique.Largest shopping mall i assume in Singapore yet.Met daryl(cbk) there also!Had Texas chicken!Good stuff too!Having very little time with baby lately also.No choice..so i am waiting for xmas to surprise her^^

Prepared my car late last night for today's practice.I have some new parts like the gear diff to try too.

But first,i went back to last race setup which completely gave me no pace to match Ak.It felt okay for first two runs and then completely horrible when the scorching sun came out.I believe its the tyres.

To conclude,I felt frustrated because theres no way i could go any faster. However, i am satisfied with my consistency though.Its a must win race next week in order to salvage my poor race form lately.Its not gonna be easy..i am sure it will be close to call.

Series 2 at bottletree was a poor race.Had no pace throughout the race till before the final.But there were no finals ran because of the poor weather.Finished 2nd though but no match for AK's pace.Nevermind, i will work on it.

Practise at turf last sunday.Samuel was back.Still look pretty decent from what i saw.My car setup was soso.Need to get better setup and better speedo setup!

Then tried Joseph's NT1.Omg it was wicked!!!Looks like i have 99% of chance to run nitro next year.Hopefully i can get everything by this year!

Met some of my old friends there.Unfortunately, one of them, is contracted with blood cancer,last stage.His days are numbered...it was very sad when i heard that :/ I hope the best of luck for him :)

Caught Harry potter with bealatrice.. i mean lovely beatrice^^ on monday!Show was draggy and i thought they should have never separated the deathly hallow into two parts!Nevertheless,I have been having xiaolongbao every week ever since last month ^^

Back from Indonesia!

It was fairly a good trip with a nice big track.However,my flight was delayed for nearly 2hours.And a crazy mofo taxi driver got lost when we were going to the track!

I did not expect practise to go so well.In a way that i did not have to worry so much about my speedo settings.So i was able to focus on my car setup instead.The only thing i changed was my final drive ratio from 6.7 to 6.5 while advancing just a lil bit on my motor timing.

The race format comprises of 5(5mins) qualifyings and 3(8mins) finals.Kept a close eye on the motor and speedo temp throughout the weekend to make sure it was all good.

First qualifying was stupid!I used a new battery tape i have never experiment before and it came loose!Local driver Bowie set the only 18lapper 5.15 for first qualifying.Next closer was another local contender,and also former A main nitro worlds finalist,Teddy.

For second qualifyings,no one improved their time.I was the next 18lapper 5.16 just over a second behind Bowie.Same goes to my third qualiflying.But i managed the fastest single lap and i was the only one to clock below 17s.I was doing 16.8,16.9 even during hot conditions.I know i had the fastest car out there but getting myself of out trouble with the traffic was another thing.

For last qualifying of the day,i decided to use LTC body.It proved to be the right direction i was heading and i improve my time to 5.11.I was the over TQ for the day.

It then poured heavily after all qualifyings for that day were completed.

Just as i thought track condition would have worsen on that day,it actually gone quicker.With Py managed to secured 2nd for the final starting grid.

For,i thought my car felt really good.I improved my fastest laptime by 0.9 but could not capitalised on it as my motor had some sorta censor shutting the system off.Not a thermal shut though.

Did not know the issue so i reassemble my motor again to make sure it was all good for the finals.

I won the first final rather comfortably.Second final didnt go as plan as i got hit my Py.Body got tucked!By the time i resume racing,i was third and held on to the checkered flag.The last final could not get even better as smoke came out from my car!RACE OVER FOR ME!

With a first and a third in the finals,i would finished third overall.

My holiday is coming to an end and school starts tomorrow at 9am!I have not had enough fun yet:(

But what was so good about this holiday was everything i guess.I am starting to race back more often again and i am picking myself up,trying to encourage myself and get back the form i used to have.I won two races in two weeks at two different tracks.I couldnt ask for more but my electronics to stick together.

Joined TAC finale M-sports class race yesterday. Simply enjoyed the whole of yesterday's race!

Had been awhile since i last race. It was ever since the last ECG series race!That long! And so,i was off the pace!Super off the pace for the first qualifier!Ended up 6th.A lap down compare to ah kai!Soooo,its pretty saddening..

And then...

Changed major setups.Managed to shave off 10 seconds in the second round despite raindrops to put me up on 4th spots.But still not good enough!

Gave my all for the last qualifier. Shaved another 10 seconds to make the 18lapper which only the top 3 made it.Ended up 3rd and was much closer compared to the top 2 pace. However, i knew i was no match to challenge for the top spot.

First final, finished 2nd as the leader faced an electronic failure.

Second final,made a couple of mistakes and took third and same goes to the last final.

Overall,3rd was what i got.It was pretty okay la..with not much expectations set,enjoyed the race despite
1)running a M03 while the rest were using the new M05(biggest disadvantage)
2)Lack of horsepower
3)driver error

I just want to take this opportunity to thank Ah goh:)

Okay..i will go a lil bit random for this post.So..lets start the ball rolling!

Well,if you do know me well,you should know that i am not someone who would give up easily.Its like..if you put me in a soccer team,if i cant get the ball from the opponent and i know that hes gonna score,i would rather break his legs and get a red card than stop chasing him and see him score.In a race,if i am losing by half a lap or by one lap,i never gave up and chase the leader.Well,the previous race had proven that.

But i think that some things has to be given up in order to move on in life.People can say oh they tried so hard and put in alot of effort to achieve something BLAH BLAH BLAH and turned out luck is not on their side or what is meant to be yours is yours or not..Ya i mean u need luck sometimes..but come on,i would say fuck you in your face!RIGHT IN YOUR FUCKING STUBBORN SAME OLD YOU FACE.If you actually tried hard,or if you actually put your heart into it and bother to learn from your mistakes,things wouldnt not wanna go your way.

Currently in school waiting for my groupmates to come.Supposingly meeting at 10 but they changed it to 11 because poor KC is sick and i've recovered!wahahhaah!It means,time to hit the gym!I think i lost 10kg over last week!I swear!

Anyway,went to the cage on friday!It was fun fun and fun!19people made it and we had 4teams to play.But the man of the match was none other than jeremy mark.

Okay,first thing first,thank you everyone who wished me on fb,msn,texts and personally.I appreciated everyone who did espcially my clique peeps of cos!They are of cos,the best!

And yes,i did win the last series race at Racecraft bottletree.How should i put it?I have no idea also..I struggled with poor traction during qualiflyings and had thermal on my fastest round also.Which puts me on second position.First final was pretty straight forward.Samuel got a slow start which i fully capitalised on it.Second final was bad cos i was taken out only at the start of the second corner.So when i got back on track,i found myself at the last position and worked all the way back to second but only to find me lurking 2 big seconds behind Samuel.However,the last final was quite interesting.Got off to a good start and was right behind Samuel.And i saw my chance came just right on my first lap,i went in but got taken out..It was really bad and when i restarted..it was yet another huge gap.I was totally demoralised!But i didnt give up and close in the gap.I was right behind him at around 3 and a half mins but nerves were not on my side and i kinda went too wide at the end of the straight away.This time,i lost all hopes of chasing him again.But he made a mistake which saw me close up the gap again.I was right on his tail and pushing hard to find a way pass him.We were going side ways on occasions and i did nudge him a lil to hard he went on a turtle..But i waited and we resumed racing.So in the end,i came in first and it was one of the most exciting wins i had so far..

A big thanks to my supporters---matt,mel,gary,jeremy and gh!But they have motives la i know one!hahahah!

Today was my last day of work at RSH.The atmosphere felt different.I have mixed emotions after the end of the day.

My manager bought me food for 'tea break'.Then we talk alot inside the store also.blah blah blah.....
